I have a ticket open with support but also wanted to see if anyone here could help. One of the DBAs on my team ran an indexing tool to check the health of the SQL database that is used by Orion and found that there are some indices that are missing and impacting performance of Solarwinds and there are also some deadlocks in the database. Anyone know if Solarwinds has recommendations on how they would fix this? We don't want to go in and fix and find out its the wrong way to fix things. We are running the latest version of SQL and it is at SP2. Thanks - Dave

How much bytes does it takes to monitor a node?
Hi,
I tried this question with support and have not got a response yet... don't be confused with the question how many bytes it takes to get to the center of Solarwinds
My current issue is that I am running out of SQL disk space, and with the upgrade of NTA using the same SQL server, I need to plan for additional resources, plus plan/forecast growth for the next 5 years.
Question, on average, how much disk space in bytes or Mb does it cost to monitor a single node. Ball park number is good as well, since I know it varies from alerts to poll, etc. Maybe just a default number? 1mb, 2mb?
Thank you in advance.
Unable to edit node via node management
Hi All,
We are getting website error while trying to edit node via node management.
Support provided following steps to resolve the issue. No one is picking the call either...
Can someone help me on this.

Agent Issue
Hi,
Can anyone tell me about this Agent Icon? How to fix it?
I referred below url but no luck.

Apart from this Agent status is good on below node but still getting an error: Its frequently happening
Cisco Switch Stack CPU utilization Issue
We have been using IPmonitor and NPM as well as we transition to NPM completely. Recently we had a issue of high CPU utilization with switches in stack.
Both IPmonitor and NPM did not indicate there was a high CPU issue. Although on logging directly into the switch i can see it running at 99% CPU continuously.
It seems that SNMP value being monitored is of for whole switch stack in this case 8 switches, instead of monitoring SNMP from the main master switch which is acting as the brains for the stack.
Any recommendation into resolving this issue.
Wrong hostnames oid
In my network i have 500 alcatel dslams. They are all discovered with the same wrong hostname (ASAM). I guess they are being polled for the hostname with a wrong OID. Is there a way to check which oid is used by orion and to change it if required?
Similarly, i need to know which oid orion is using to get interface errors for a specific device type. I tried to use pollercheckertool.exe but i couldn't figure it out.
Please help!
Monitor the time sync alerts for F5 LTM Device 'A' and F5 LTM device 'B'.
Hi All,
I am looking for alert "when 2 LTM (F5 device) time sync difference goes to more than 3 minutes"?
Do we have any undp process through which we can monitor time differences or anyway to monitor the same.

Need to upgrade the Solarwinds NPM 12.1 to 12.3, SAM 6.4 to 6.6.1 and SRM 6.4 to 6.6 running on Windows 2012 R2 and Database MSSQL 2014
Hi All,
We are planning to upgrade the Solarwinds NPM 12.1 to 12.3, SAM 6.4 to 6.6.1 and SRM 6.4 to 6.6 running on Windows 2012 R2 and Database MSSQL 2014.
Since NPM, SAM and SRM latest versions are not compatible to run on Windows 2012 and MSSQL 2014, can anyone suggest me, how I can take it forward with step by step procedure. I have 9 additional pollers and please consider them while providing the step by step procedure.
Regards,
Veeresh
Please confirm, if there is any bugs reported so far with latest version of NPM 12.3, SAM 6.6.1 and SRM 6.6 since it’s out
Hi Team,
Please confirm, if there is any bugs reported so far with latest version of NPM 12.3, SAM 6.6.1 and SRM 6.6 since it’s out.
NPM ping snmp report monitor
We're monitoring about 100 devices some with ping and mostly snmp. Do you know of a way to pull a report on which ones are ping monitoring vs snmp monitoring? Going to take me a long time if I have to click on each to check then capture it.
Thank you,
Ted
Automating a Node to Unmanaged
I was looking at possible way to take a network device that has been offline for 45 days and have it change to Unmanaged. We have equipment that gets turned off, but not picked up from the site, so the network team does not want it removed from SW until it has been retrieved and checked back in.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
How do I create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet from a device to track its up and down event times?
How do I create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet from a device to track its up and down event times?
This would be under “Events,” and filter device objects would be “Network Object”, “Type of Device,” “Event Type,” and “Time Period.” These would be the columns that I would create in Exel and are found under Events. Events is found under Alerts & Activity. I only see that one can export this as a PDF file but not an Excel spreadsheet. Does anyone have any suggestions or need more information? Please. Thank you and have a great day.
WMI not reading disk volume data
Hello,
I have NPM setup and working for a few nodes. I am using WMI to monitor my Windows server. Most of them are able to report disk drive data and some are not. Does anyone have any idea why Solarwinds NPM can read drive data for one server and not others?

CloudGENIX SD-WAN Solution Orion Monitoring and Alerting
I'd like to know if anyone out in the community uses CloudGenix as their SDWAN solution, in what ways have you been able to integrate it with Solarwinds tools and alerting? Also, if anyone else has the same interest?
Monitor up / down of LAPs
So, lots of stuff I'm still trying to understand about NPM and Atlas, etc but if I have (and we do) upwards of 5K LAPs across various WLC's and brands then I know I can discover the WLCs and only use a few licenses as opposed to the >5K.
But what I don't understand is how you guys track up / down of LAPs if they aren't being directly added to a map / group?
Processing varbinds - Fault management
[CA spectrum](https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2-3/en/) makes fault management powerful by providing [context free grammar](https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-0/en/managing-network/event-configuration/how-to-use-procedures-in-event-processing/examples-of-procedures-in-event-disposition-files) for processing varbinds of an SNMP trap.
We can use this syntax provided by CA spectrum to process varbinds of a received snmp trap.
---------------------------------------
Do we have similar capability in Solarwinds Orion product that provides syntax to process varbinds?
SNMP Unknown Ports 50,000 - 65,000
Hi,
We are shifting our Core WAN firewall wall segment from Juniper ISG 1000 to Juniper SRX 5400, mentioned issue has been arrived while limiting the policies of SRX 5400 as on ISG 1000 we use allow any port policy for Branches SNMP i.e. we are getting UDP port hits from the direction branches towards NMS Server in the range of 50000 to 65000 and if we are not allowing this we are unable to pool the branches on SNMP. i.e. The point is we allowed the port 161 and 162 it will not work i.e. branch router behind firewall not responding on SNMP and test failed. But as we allow port 50000 till port 65000 its work and branch router starting responding on SNMP.
Below is the polices and the flow session ready reference. As for allow of ports we need justification for Network Security demand and Audit requirement,
Policy on WAN firewall SRX 5400:
set security policies from-zone trust-VPN to-zone trust-BLUE policy NMS match source-address ALL-BRANCHES
set security policies from-zone trust-VPN to-zone trust-BLUE policy NMS match destination-address 10.1.107.150/32 (NMS server)
set security policies from-zone trust-VPN to-zone trust-BLUE policy NMS match application UDP-161-162 (routine)
set security policies from-zone trust-VPN to-zone trust-BLUE policy NMS match application UDP-50000-65000 (Additional on this work)
set security policies from-zone trust-VPN to-zone trust-BLUE policy NMS then permit
Flow session on WAN firewall SRX 5400:
PR-AGG-FW-A> show security flow session policy-id 152
