Hi,
I met the following problem: I import data into Solarwinds IPAM using the following excel sheet:
I use the IP Address Import function, the corresponding subnets are created automatically.
All the green columns contain information about the subnets, the blue ones contain everything for the ip addresses.
Site, Category and VRF are Custom Fields. I want every subnet to have these three custom fields filled in.
But when I import the excel sheet, the following happens:
The Site, Category and VRF - information is added to the IP address and not to the subnet. So lets say I have a /24-network. The 255 IP Addresses will have the custom fields filled in BUT NOT THE SUBNET ITSELF - when I look at the subnet only, the custom fields will be empty.
So far the only solution I found was a) manually correcting everything or b) importing subnets and ip addresses separately - both very time consuming.
Why don't I have the option to match the columns Site, Category and VRF from the excel sheet to the custom fields of the subnet during the "Subnet Column matching" thing?
Please Help, anybody
