how to resolve unknown devices in orion npm

hi all....

I have majority of monitored devices as unknown especially the ones polled using pings. so I want to know if theres a way which I can use to resolve these pinged devices so they can show me more status description(OS,hostname,vendor etc). the ones polled via snmp/wmi are fine.
