Changing alert recipents via script

We have a number of different alerts that are configured to go out to our oncall team via email and SMS.  As the team is on a rota (sometimes changing mid week) I or a member of my team has to go into each alert and change the recipient list.  We have to do this on 2 instances of Orion and there are 4-5 alerts per server.  Is there a way that this could be scripted so all you need to do is change the details in one place and it will then update the different alerts.  We are running NPM v 10.7.
